What We Want to Achieve
We are all living in a time of increasing environmental challenges and it is imperative that we teach our children within a context of sustainability so that they develop the knowledge and skills to thrive in the world as it is today. Our pupils need to be aware of the formidable issue of climate change whilst at the same time being taught a message of hope, that with small steps and determination their contributions are vital and that they themselves are agents for positive change. The pupils of Barley Lane Primary School will understand the impact of environmental problems and how these may affect their future lives. They will be passionate about the natural world, want to do their best to protect it and aim to use their skills and knowledge to influence the community within which they live.
